JM - “I’ve always held the belief that however you spend your New Year’s Celebration, it will be reflected in the year ahead. [For example,] if you have the dream of traveling, I suggest packing your bags and having them with you when the clock strikes 12. Really show the universe that your intention is more than a thought. It is an action!

Help produce films that give a voice to children and their plight. Whether it be in a refugee camp in Northern Uganda or on a sugar beet farm in Minnesota, children have a story to tell. One that reveals hope within horror.
This Christmas morning I made pancakes for the family (unfortunately, we were out of chocolate chips). Now, I’m watching John Wayne westerns with my grandpa while working on a crossword puzzle my grandma and I started together. If this is being retired, then sign me up.
Okay. Will Smith. We need to have a talk. Because you’re straight up ridiculous. Will you just hold me? Please?
Proof that I watch entirely too much TLC:
I do not like the Duggars. They creep me out and I could not be more thankful that I wasn’t one of the poor kids to pop out of that woman.
Sometimes I wish I was a Gosselin.
Or at least that I could have Aaden and Leah. We’d all eat organic lollipops together, like any good Gosselin does.

I’m choosing to just be thankful to celebrate another holiday with those I love. It’s the best present I could ask for.
Since Netflix gave mac users access to the Watch Instantly feature, I’ve been watching a lot of documentaries. The most recent: Beyond Belief. I strongly recommend it. Seriously, however you can watch this movie, do it.
It’s about two women whose husbands died on September 11th and how they used that tragedy to reach out to widows in Afghanistan. We all suffer. We all feel grief. We...

From Eat, Pray, Love:
“At the beginning of my spiritual experiment, I didn’t always have such faith in this internal voice of wisdom. I remember once reaching for my private notebook in a bitter fury of rage and sorrow, and scrawling a message to my inner voice-to my divine interior comfort-that took up an entire page of capital letters: I DO NOT FUCKING BELIEVE IN YOU!!! After a...

– Nathan Pyle, Heart Language. Kind of obvious but I tend to forget too often. Nice to be reminded.
My art history course ended with a lecture on Existentialism. Read some Sartre if you want to feel hopeless about your future. Makes finals week go by much faster.
I really honestly forgot how much I hate winter weather in Chicago. It’s painfully cold. Unbearably cold. I’m not leaving my apartment until April.

It’s already December? Crap. That means January comes next. And Februrary after that. Some of my least favorite months. I’m not much of a winter person, I guess.
There’s really no point of me writing this right now. Except that I’m procrastinating on getting stuff done for finals. I almost wish I was more stressed. At least that way I’d have a little more motivation...
